December 31st

What are you doing New Year's Eve? My husband and I have never been ones to be out and about for this holiday. We were engaged at my parents' home just after midnight on New Year's 2009, and since then, we have stayed home every year. This year, my husband and I are again staying at home--this time with our little one, our first new year with a child!

Post your plans in the comments below.

  1. We have friends coming from out of town, so we're going to try to stay up til midnight with all the kids (ages 8-15) -- this is a first for our families. The old people and younger ones will probably be ready for bed around 10, and the teens will be fine until the New Year. :)

  2. P.S. We totally bombed the New Year's Eve. We finally told the kids we were going to celebrate the New Year with NYC (at 11pm Central time). Interestingly enough, we had no complaints!

    1. We tried to put the baby down, but she was awake at midnight on New Year's, unfortunately. Fortunately, she slept late, though!

One goal of mine in starting this blog was to make some new friends with whom to share thoughts, ideas, encouragement, and inspiration. Please post a message. I would love to hear from you! But please be friendly; please don't say anything in the comments that you would not say to me in my own home.
